World Ocean’s Day

“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.”
Jacques Cousteau

This wonder needs protecting and we all can help doing so in our own way.
On the 8th of June it is World Oceans Day! A day on which people from all over the world pledge to do something, no matter how small, to improve our oceans and show their respect.

Us here at Sunchaser Scuba, together with BEYC, will of course participate in our own way on this amazing day. Activities will take place all day here at the marina and the dive shop.

The schedule kicks off at 10am with a beach clean up organized by the Quarterdeck Club in cooperation with the watersports staff. In the afternoon from 1pm-3 pm, the diveshop and all other certified divers who have offered to join us, will be participating in an underwater clean up of the shoreline in front of the hotel.

This will be an official AWARE Dive Against Debris event.

Following the beach and underwater clean up will be tons of fun festivities. At 2pm, the Quarterdeck will host a dock party. There will be raffle tickets and fun games to be had by everyone!

The Raffle begins at 5pm – you won’t want to miss the opportunity to take home some amazing prizes!

After the sun has set, enjoy a film, or two, with the family. Dolphin Tale will be featured on the big screen at 7:30pm followed by the famous documentary Blue Planet.

We invite everyone to join us in celebrating World Oceans Day this Wednesday, June 8th!

See what you can do to make our ocean a better place!
